Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan recently landed in a soup after a reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj triggered a controversy. Twitterati was furious and the channel was majorly slammed for a slip up as they did not put a prefix to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and referred him in the first-person singular form. It led to Twitter users trending ‘Boycott KBC’ as they were furious with the disrespectful reference to the Maratha warrior in Wednesday’s episode.  The channel promptly apologized and Twitterverse has appreciated the channel for the same.

The channel took to their social media handles and rendered an apology. Sony Television’s apology posted on social media reads, “There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday’s KBC episode, due to inadvertence. We deeply regret the same and being mindful of the sentiments of our viewers have carried a scroll expressing regret during our episode yesterday. @amitabhbachchan @001danishkhan #KBC11” Now, Twitter users trend “Thank You Sony TV.” While one tweet read, “I say Thank You Sony TV. U ever listen us so thank u for responding such promptly,” while another read, “An apologist is always up.
